About The Shelter

Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre is a Right to Life animal shelter that rescues, rehabilitates and then re-home abused, abandoned and neglected animals. We currently house over 600 animals, which all get fed and cared for, and our vet provides any medical attention they may need, including sterilization... We do not put animals to sleep, unless they are in severe pain and cannot be saved. Instead, we give them everything they need until a new loving home is found. We currently re-home between 75 and 100 animals per month. Wet Nose does not receive any government or municipal funding and survives on donations and sponsorships alone, we rely entirely on the generosity of the general public and corporate companies. - We are a “right to life” animal rescue centre - All animals are handled with dignity and respect - We ensure that all animals are, de-wormed, vaccinated, sterilized and micro- chipped - Our animals get exercised and played with daily by staff and volunteers - We have qualified inspectors who attend to all animal cruelty cases reported to us, we are not area bounded so where there’s a need we go to assist. - We have full time veterinarians and a clinic to assist with our animals and also private patients. - Our inspectors does pro-active work in areas where there’s a need - We also visit schools and do educational/motivational talks, learners are also invited to do their community projects at the shelter. - We always love to have volunteers to come and walk with the dogs or just to interact with the animals by loving them or feeding them. Our love and passion for animals shows in the way that the Wet Nose staff and Board Members run the shelter.
